Come join us for a great day of mountain biking on a scenic and fun course. Race in the 4 or 8 hour race as a solo or on a team of 2, 3 or 4 (teams of 3 and 4 apply to the 8hr race only). The course is approximately 12.6 miles. Fast lap times are around 53 minutes.
The course is a mix of single track and fire-road. It is a fast and smooth course with few technical sections. The most laps wins. Approximately 700 feet ascending and descending per lap.

Format
- Course is approximately 12 miles. Fast lap times should be around 60 minutes.
- The course is single track and fireroad. It is fast and smooth with a few technical sections.
- 4 or 8 hours of non stop racing
- 4 hour race is timed from 8:00AM to 12:00PM
- 8 hour race is timed from 8:00AM to 4:00PM
- Most laps win
Timing & Transition Area
- Mandatory dismount through timing area
- Racers only…..no teammates
Team Pit Area
- The Team Pit Area is located at the main venue. Teams are provided with designated patch of ground to set up their support on a first come first serve basis. Teams may set up on Friday afternoon and Saturday race morning (there will be no security on Friday night). Team Pit Area closes at 8:00PM Friday night and opens at 6:00AM Saturday morning.
- Additional Team Pit Area is provide after registration
General Rules
- No mp3 players (music, ear plugs) on course
- Helmets-CPSC, ANSI or SNELL certified helmets must be worn at all times while on course
- Race numbers-must be displayed on the front of handle bars and on your back (visible) at all times while on course
- Protests may be submitted by a team captain to the race director by 12:05PM for the 4 hour race and by 4:05PM for the 8 hour race. Protest shall be written and include contact information for all parties. The race directors decision is final.
- Sportsmanship is required. Respecting the trail system and ALL those using it is paramount.
- Passing
- Vocalize your intent when passing “passing the right/left, etc.”
- Pass in a location that works, not in a tight corner, etc.
- Right of Way
- This is not a closed course event. Pay attention and yeild to other non-racers (bike and foot) when necessary.
- Represent MTB with class
- Once on the course, a rider must complete his or her lap. Substitutions or restarts can only be made at the main timing tent.
Course Rules
- Follow the course, no exceptions
- Consecutive laps are allowed
- Cancelling a lap
- A team has the option of cancelling a teammates lap and restarting the lap with another teammate. The start of the cancelled lap time will be the start of the new lap.
- For the 4 hr race, all riders must start their final lap before 12:00 PM, and complete their final lap by 12:45 PM in order for the lap to count.
- For the 8 hr race, all riders must start their final lap before 4:00 PM, and complete their final lap by 4:45 PM in order for the lap to count.

The Lake Tahoe Mountain Bike Race main venue is located at the Highlands Community Center on Country Club Drive a few miles east of Tahoe City, CA.
Directions:
From the Sacramento area to the race start
1 - Interstate 80 East towards Reno
2 - Take the Hwy 89 South exit towards Lake Tahoe
3 - Stay straight at the Tahoe City traffic light onto Hwy 28
4 – Turn left onto Fabian Way
5 – Turn right onto Village Road
6 – Turn left onto Country Club Drive
7 – Highlands Community Center entrance is on the left.
From Reno using HWY 431 to the race start
1 - Mt Rose Hwy 431 towards Lake Tahoe
2 – Turn right onto Hwy 28
3 - Turn right onto Fabian Way
4 - Turn right onto Village Road
5 - Turn left onto Country Club Drive
